David Noteware, CEO
For over twenty years, David has led successful teams in for-profit and not-for-profit environments. He has served as founder, c-level officer and consultant in a variety of activities spanning finance technology, electronics manufacturing, real estate, legal services and software. He successfully co-founded, grew and eventually sold PayQuik to Citigroup in 2008.
David’s professional career began as an intellectual property attorney at Arnold & Porter in Washington, DC where he focused on business transactions and joint ventures involving the transfers of intellectual property. He served as the General Counsel and COO of the University City Science Center, one of the nation’s oldest and most successful full service business incubators. He currently serves on the boards of Clear Align, a manufacturer of advanced imaging components for military application, and Orchestrall, a provider of advanced health care in China, and advises several other ventures.
David was a National Merit Scholar at Duke University, where he earned his BA, magna cum laude, in economics, history, and political science. He earned his JD at the University of Texas School of Law, where he served as associate editor of the Texas Law Review. He earned his MBA at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Jason Primuth, President
Jason brings broad experience in court reporting technology . Prior to joining NextGen, Jason was the General Manager of RealLegal and the Vice President of Sales at LiveNote, Inc. which included LiveNote software and West Court Reporting Services, the court reporting division of Thomson Reuters.
Prior to joining RealLegal and LiveNote, Jason led the business development team at YesVideo. He was instrumental in the launch and growth of the company’s successful YesLaw software and service offering for court reporting and litigation professionals worldwide.
As a regular presenter at conventions for attorneys, corporate counsel, and court reporters, Jason has educated thousands of professionals on the value and best practices of litigation technology. Jason studied international politics and diplomacy at the George Washington University in Washington, DC.
Jonathan Hefler, Chief Operating Officer
Jon comes to NextGen with over a decade of successful management, sales and operations experience servicing the global deposition market. Prior to joining NextGen, Jon was the Division President for the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic Regions at U.S. Legal Support where he was responsible for the growth of all litigation support services in those markets including Court Reporting, eDiscovery, Trial Support and Medical Record Retrieval. Earlier in his litigation support career, Jon spent many years with TSG Reporting as its Chief Operating Officer.
Jon is well-known for his expertise in all areas of corporate and large-scale case management. He has personally supervised hundreds of billions of dollars in high-stakes litigation for clients around the world, and pioneered numerous client service initiatives utilized throughout the modern deposition services industry today. Jon earned his BA in Economics from Haverford College and his MBA from the University of Miami, Florida.
Kurt Fetzer, RDR, CRR, Vice President – Court Reporting
Based out of the company’s mid-Atlantic regional hub in Wilmington, Kurt Fetzer is an accomplished entrepreneur and has been an active court reporter since 1979. Prior to combining his company with NextGen, Kurt was a founder and the CEO of the largest court reporting firm in Delaware, Wilcox & Fetzer. Among his many awards and honors, Kurt has been appointed by the Delaware Supreme Court to serve two terms on the Board of Certified Court Reporters, he was the president of the Delaware Court Reporters Association, he has chaired numerous reporter task forces in Delaware to protect and uphold the reporting profession, and he serves on Orleans Technical Institute’s Court Reporting Advisory Council.
Ken Varallo, Senior Vice President, Sales
Ken comes from one of the oldest and most-storied court reporting families in the nation. Raised by one of the most prominent court reporters of the last century, Ken has spent his career immersed in the arena of litigation support.
Currently in charge of strategic initiatives, Ken leverages NextGen’s patented technology and service platform to expand the company’s national and global relationships. Ken has spent the past twenty-five years covering the full lifecycle of the litigation discovery process, from Electronic Evidence to Court Reporting to Trial Presentations.
Prior to joining NextGen, Ken co-founded DiscoveryWorks Legal, Inc, a pioneer in the field of eDiscovery. Before DiscoveryWorks, Ken ran the litigation support division of ImageMax, the highest-grossing division within that publicly-traded company. Ken also previously owned and operated Varallo Technologies, an innovator in the litigation services sector.
A recognized industry leader, Ken is a featured speaker at document management training seminars at many of the nation’s top law firms and is a sought-after consultant for complex litigation and high visibility Trial Presentations. Ken holds a degree in Operations Management from Villanova University.
Ed Kerpius, Vice President, Corporate Accounts
Ed leads teams responsible for bringing NextGen’s technology offerings to corporations and insurance companies around the world. His efforts at NextGen have resulted in 8 of the top 10 domestic insurance companies relying on NextGen.
Prior to joining NextGen, Ed held senior sales positions with Turner Investment Partners and BostonCoach (Fidelity Investments) and was the owner of a successful start up business that focused on community involvement.
Ed holds both his BA and MBA from Villanova University, graduating cum laude. He also serves as a professor at Villanova with a focus on Business Dynamics.
